Comtim Romania and the Regional Food Bank Timișoara launch a campaign to combat food waste: 'STOP Waste! Feeding Hope'

In a world where food waste is becoming a global challenge, Comtim Romania and the Regional Food Bank Timișoara have developed a social responsibility campaign called “STOP Waste! Feeding Hope.”

Through this initiative, we aim to provide children in schools across Timiș County — both rural and urban — with information about responsible food resource use and waste reduction. Through interactive workshops and the distribution of the booklet “Tim’s Journal,” we encourage students to develop habits for responsible consumption: learning how to properly store food, read product labels correctly, and creatively reuse leftovers such as roast meat in new recipes. The most creative students will be rewarded — their recipes will be published on the official project website, www.jurnalulluitim.ro.

Participating students also receive “Tim’s Journal,” an educational resource specially designed for them, written in accessible and friendly language. It offers interesting information and practical suggestions to prepare them to be more responsible in managing food and preventing waste. The book’s hero is Tim (Comtim), a 9-year-old boy who has already participated in a workshop on food waste reduction, sharing his own experience and guiding children on the path to sustainable consumption. The most creative students will be rewarded — their recipes will be published on the official project website www.jurnalulluitim.ro and will have the chance to be awarded for their ingenuity. In this way, every participating student personally contributes to reducing food waste and discovers the satisfaction of smart cooking.
